1. Jorja and Sidney Sheldon married for thirty four years before the former died of a sudden heart attack. Soon after he married Alexandra with whom his marriage lasted for seventeen years, until his death in 2007. Quite contrary to the books written by the author though, all about infidelity, adultery, betrayal and failed marriages!
2. Although many assumed that Betty Comden and Adolf Green were a husband-wife team, she was actually married for 37 years to Steven Kyle. Comden was part of the musical duo Comden and Green and her famous musicals include Singin' in the Rain, The Will Rogers Follies and Hallelujah, Baby!
3. Jane Waddington Wyatt and Edgar Bethune Ward were married for nearly sixty five years before Edgar died in November 2000. Jane Wyatt was an American actress in films and television. She is known for playing Ronald Colman's love interest in Frank Capra's Lost Horizon (1937). Other film appearances include1947's Gentleman's Agreement (with Gregory Peck), None but the Lonely Heart (with Cary Grant), and Boomerang (with Dana Andrews).
4. Michael Delaney Dowd Jr. aka Mike Douglas was married to Genevieve Purnell for sixty two years, before he died in August 2006. Known for The Mike Douglas Show at large, this American entertainers classic achievement was serenading with Rosie O'Donnell in 'You Make Me Feel So Young' after she credited him with part of her success.
These were some fairy tale romances which became real life romances. Also, there are several not-so-successful romances in showbiz. Here's a list of the most prominent ones:

'It's better to burn out than to fade away' - from Neil Young's My My, Hey Hey (Out Of The Blue), as quoted by Kurt Cobain, vocalist and guitarist, Nirvana, leaves unanswered questions relating to his so-called suicide resulting from a heroin overdose. Nirvana lovers blame Cobain's wife Courtney Love for the death of the singer. The marriage is one of the many in the list of marriages gone wrong in a very short span of time(two years in this case).
2. The love story of glamor model and actress, Pamela Anderson and American rock' n' roll musician, Tommy Lee didn't go too far. Known best for Baywatch, Scary Movie 3 and holding the record for appearing on the 'Playboy' cover maximum times, this Canadian-American has had a turbulent married life, with failed marriages with Lee as well as Kid Rock.
3. Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of the legendary Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley was married to Michael Jackson from 1994 to 1996. She has had a successful career as an American singer but her failed marriage to Jackson is one of the many in a series of four-Danny Keough (1988-1994), Michael Jackson (1994-1996), Nicolas Cage (2002-2002) and Michael Lockwood (2006-Present).
Whether marriages are made in heaven or not, divorce is definitely an earthly affair. As if on a roll, flings seem to be the in-thing today unlike the long courtships of yesteryears. Love is not fast, or a race against time, it is modest, vibrant and patient.
